On Thursday, 26 March 2026 at 7:30 PM, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra will present a concert at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall featuring Elgar’s enduring Serenade for Strings, Sibelius’s majestic Symphony No. 2, and the world premiere of a newly revised version of Mark Simpson’s oratorio The Immortal. Conducted by Daniela Candillari, the performance will include baritone Mark Stone and the vocal ensemble EXAUDI. Following the concert, a post-performance discussion will be held in the Music Room with Artist in Residence Mark Simpson, conductor Daniela Candillari, and lyricist Melanie Challenger. Tickets are available in price categories ranging from £10 to £59, with a 10% administrative fee for online and telephone bookings, and an optional £2.50 postage fee for mailed tickets.
