Mark Simpson’s The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, written for wind quintet, receives it UK premiere on Monday 26th October in a lunch time concert with the Orsino Ensemble at the Wigmore Hall. The work is inspired by five of John Koenig’s neologisms for different types of emotion. It forms the centrepiece in a program with Barber’s Summer Music, Op. 31 and Nielsen’s Wind Quintet, Op. 43.
